Chris brings more than 40 years of experience delivering innovative software solutions to healthcare, public health, and government organizations. For over a decade, he has focused his expertise in the corrections industry, developing core solutions that address critical operational challenges such as offender management connectivity, streamlined intake-to-release workflows, and advanced statistical tracking.

Drawing on his formal training and certification in NextGen Enterprise systems, Chris combines deep technical knowledge in interoperability and systems integration with a forward-thinking approach to improving clinical, operational, and public health outcomes. Earlier in his career, he co-founded a systems integration company that generated more than $100 million in combined revenue and successfully led 13 companies through mergers and acquisitions—demonstrating his ability to guide organizations through growth, transformation, and strategic alignment.

A recognized problem-solver and strategic thinker, Chris continues to drive innovation at the intersection of technology, public health, and correctional healthcare. His visionary approach helps organizations adopt modern, efficient workflows and create solutions that support better patient and population outcomes well into the future.

Outside of work, Chris is an avid photographer and a certified dive master, and he remains deeply involved in his community as a dedicated scouting leader.

CYNTHIA PATTERSON

Cynthia brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare technology and operational leadership. A NextGen Certified Professional, she has built a distinguished career implementing complex EHR and workflow solutions across multi-specialty practices, public health agencies, and correctional healthcare systems.

Her path into healthcare technology began unexpectedly when she was asked to fix a fax machine in a local doctor’s office—a moment that sparked a career defined by curiosity, problem-solving, and a passion for improving healthcare operations. Since then, Cynthia has established a proven track record of driving service excellence, optimizing technology adoption, and leading high-performing teams to achieve measurable, profit-focused results.

As Chief Operating Officer, Cynthia is known for her strategic and unifying leadership style. She brings a forward-looking approach to operational strategy, emphasizing collaboration, accountability, and aligning team strengths with each client’s vision. She fosters a culture where every Medicalistics employee is encouraged to grow personally and professionally while contributing to meaningful, mission-driven work.

Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys photography, paddle boarding, and traveling with her family. She is also an avid gardener and a certified Master Gardener, finding creativity and restoration in cultivating the outdoors.

WILLIAM “JOE” WEST

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Joe works cross-functionally across Medicalistics to enhance quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Partnering closely with the CEO and COO, he focuses on optimizing implementation standards, strengthening operational processes, and ensuring successful product delivery for organizations across the public health and correctional healthcare sectors.

Joe began his career in the electronic medical record industry more than a decade ago, first making an impact at Allscripts, where he gained foundational experience in EHR workflows and client engagement. He later led template development for an entire state correctional system, an effort that deepened his understanding of correctional health operations and large-scale system design. His work with the NextGen platform expanded his expertise into data center management, infrastructure optimization, and facility expansion.

A strategic and technical thinker, Joe combines operational insight with a problem-solving mindset to help organizations successfully adopt and maximize their technology investments. Inspired by the giving nature of public health professionals, he is committed to equipping Medicalistics clients with the tools they need to deliver high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.

Outside of work, Joe is active in his church and community. In recent years, he has participated in mission trips to Panama, where he helped provide electricity, clean water, and food programs to underserved tribal communities—an experience that continues to shape his commitment to service and meaningful impact.

JOSE CABRERA

CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

Jose is a high-performance revenue and business development executive with extensive experience leading global teams and driving growth across direct sales and channel partner ecosystems. As Chief Revenue Officer, he oversees all revenue-generating functions for Medicalistics, aligning sales, marketing, partnerships, and client engagement strategies to accelerate growth and expand market presence.

Jose brings a proven track record in the B2B marketplace, including cloud and enterprise technology solutions, where he has consistently delivered measurable results in competitive industries. His experience developing and executing multi-route go-to-market strategies enables organizations to scale efficiently while strengthening customer value.

A strategic, data-driven leader, Jose brings clarity and structure to complex revenue challenges. He blends analytical insight with an ability to inspire and mobilize teams, making him a powerful driver of cross-functional alignment and organizational momentum. Known for his collaborative style, he excels in building partnerships, enhancing team performance, and guiding initiatives that advance long-term company objectives.

GARY STEINER

Gary Steiner serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Medicalistics. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, having held director, vice president, CIO, and CTO roles at national healthcare and technology organizations.

Throughout his career, Gary has established new markets and led product direction and go-to-market strategy for healthcare technology companies serving corrections, public health, and behavioral health. His work has focused on building solutions that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with the complex needs of government and healthcare clients.

At Medicalistics, Gary is responsible for the company’s overall technology platform, including architecture, security, and integration strategy, as well as key technology partnerships and external relationships. He ensures that Medicalistics’ technology investments are effective, sustainable, and closely aligned with the company’s business goals and client outcomes.

With nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare technology, Brian is a seasoned product executive known for driving innovation, improving workflows, and delivering solutions that enhance user experience across healthcare, public health, and correctional environments.

As Vice President of Product Management, Brian leads product strategy, marketing, and proposal management for Medicalistics. He oversees product vision, roadmap execution, and go-to-market strategy while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and evolving market needs. Brian partners closely with cross-functional teams to shape competitive strategy, strengthen client value, and deliver high-impact RFP responses that support company growth.

A collaborative and data-driven leader, Brian excels at unifying teams and transforming complex operational challenges into intuitive, outcome-focused technology.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, supporting his children’s activities, and staying engaged in continuous learning and professional development. He and his family are also active supporters of the foster care network, contributing time and resources to children and families in need of stability and support.

Chris brings more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a career devoted to client engagement, relationship development, and strategic account leadership. His background includes senior project management, regional implementation oversight, and statewide program management roles that have shaped his deep understanding of healthcare operations and client needs.

Since joining Medicalistics in 2013, Chris has served as a key leader in sales and client engagement. As Director of Client Engagement & Senior Sales Director, he oversees major statewide clients and multiple strategic accounts, ensuring strong partnerships, successful solution delivery, and long-term client satisfaction.

Chris is a dynamic sales leader with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, developing long-standing client relationships, and consistently delivering year-over-year performance results. He excels at identifying opportunities for account expansion, advancing customer-centric solutions, and spearheading initiatives that increase market presence across the corrections and public health sectors.

Known for his strategic advisory approach, Chris takes pride in building trusted client relationships, aligning solutions with organizational goals, and ensuring measurable impact for the agencies he serves. His ability to retain key accounts and uncover new value opportunities has made him a cornerstone of Medicalistics’ continued growth.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his children, traveling, and discovering new adventures and experiences.

DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEAD

NATHAN SANFORD

DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEAD

Nathan is a Development Team Lead with more than a decade of experience designing and implementing creative, high-impact solutions within the NextGen platform. He has also served as an analyst working with Epic and Athena, giving him a broad and versatile understanding of multiple EHR ecosystems. With experience spanning custom content development and support for large multi-specialty healthcare organizations, Nathan brings a deep technical knowledge base and a strong problem-solving mindset to the Medicalistics team.

As Development Lead, Nathan oversees a team of talented and dedicated developers, guiding technical strategy, solution architecture, and the delivery of innovative features that meet complex operational needs. He is known for his ability to find unique, effective approaches to challenges that many consider impossible—continually pushing boundaries to expand what NextGen and integrated technologies can achieve.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and traveling. He is also a passionate woodworker, creating projects both large and small—from cutting boards to custom kitchen cabinetry.

Lisa Funk is a seasoned software trainer and implementation consultant with more than 15 years of deep NextGen experience spanning EHR, Practice Management workflows, and system optimization. She specializes in helping clients maximize their Medicalistics and NextGen investments through best-practice training that drives adoption, improves efficiency, and builds confidence in system use.

Known for her practical, client-focused approach, Lisa excels at translating complex workflows into clear, actionable guidance that empowers users and supports long-term success. Her extensive hands-on experience enables organizations to achieve smoother implementations, stronger user engagement, and measurable operational improvements.

Outside of work, Lisa is an avid bird enthusiast, an ’80s rock aficionado, and a passionate perfume collector.
